Julien Hauspie

bio
Julien Hauspie, born in Belgium, is a Kortrijk-based composer/producer for film, television, and games. He aims to create sonically challenging soundscapes using a wide range of instruments.
Having a big admiration for (film) music at a young age, he was inspired to start learning an instrument and asked his parents for an electric guitar at the age of 12. Being mostly self-taught, he played in various Progressive Metal bands as lead guitar player up until 2015. During this time he learned how to record and produce music, which sparked a desire to focus more on creating music in different genres and styles.
His first collaborative effort was co-creating the soundtrack for the survival-horror game: 'Penumbra: Necrologue', which received a ModDB Editor's Choice award for "Best Singleplayer" in 2014. Following this, Julien also worked as a freelance composer on various game trailers en teasers, one of them being the horror game "Transient", which received a Centauri award for "Best Original Music". He also composed for various short-films, like 'Ingénue' (2019), which received a Rising Filmmaker award in the category "Best Music for Short Film".
He also releases more electronic-oriented music under the name "Parable". An EP 'Fragments' was released in 2020 and his debut album 'Monument' released in 2024.
